The Narians had a large problem. A very large problem. A team of geneticists developed a longevity
treatment that had an unexpected side effect. After the treatment they were only fertile from age two
twenty to two thirty and then they had a birth rate of two point three seven children. It didn’t seem so
bad until the Enemy attacked. They suffered very heavy losses during the first ten years of the war, too
many of them people who hadn’t had children yet and their population was on the verge of collapse.
They needed an ally who could breed in much larger numbers than they could and at a much younger
age.
Some ninety five years into the war they discovered Earth and Humans. Tial was put in charge of
recruiting Humans to populate twelve planets and aiding in their fight for survival against their implacable
foe. She recruited Jill and John O’Niell. Jill turned into a very good stratigist. Their son, Damian
O’Niell, developed a jink drive for the Narian’s ships that was an immense help in the fight. The Rats,
as the Humans named the Enemy, attacked in much larger numbers than before when the Narians and
Humans started using their new jink drives threatening to overwhelm the allies.
Would Jill be able to stop the Rats or would the Rats destroy both the Narians and Humans?
